Maschke Wins Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate After Career Round, Denison Places First in Springfield

Springfield, Ohio - Sophomore Siena Maschke used a career-round to propel herself along with fellow Big Red Lizzy Grant, Isabella Dolan, and Natalia Fanucchi to top-five finishes en route to a win at the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate hosted by Wittenberg University. The Big Red finished +30 to end the two-round tournament, 34 strokes better than Centre College who was second. Maschke was the only participant to finish under par, and totaled a score of 70 (-2) for the best round of her career.

Round One: Maschke paced the Big Red through round one, totaling the best score of the day with a 73 (+1). She tallied three birdies in her first three of four holes to elevate her to the top spot. Dolan, Fanucchi, and Grant all tied for sixth (+5, 77) to end their first round, with each player recording birdies in their respective rounds. Anais Oge rounded out the top-10 for the Big Red with a score of 78 (+6) and four birdies on her first day. Lily Wang finished tied for 27th after shooting an 86 (+14), giving Denison a total score of 304 (+16) and a 17 stroke lead after one round of play.

Round Two: Denison continued their steady pace from round one into two, and Maschke started to get rolling, finishing her second round two under par (70, -2) with five birdies to post a new career-low and win the tournament by 10 strokes. She finished with a total score of 143 (-1) to end her two-day stretch. Grant came in second place with a total score of 153 (+9), and improve her first round score by one stroke, shooting a 76 (+4). Dolan and Fanucchi tied for third, with both shooting a 78 (+6) on day two and finishing with a score of 155 (+11). Oge capped off her tournament with a total score of 162 (+18) and shooting 84 (+12) to finish tied 12th. Rounding out the group was Wang, who improved her first day score by three strokes, tallying an 83 (+11) for a tied 23rd final spot and a total score of 169 (+25). The Big Red shot a total of 302 (+14) in round two for a total of 606 (+30) to wrap up as champions.
