Palm Desert, Calif.– The Denison women's golf team kicked off the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships strong, finishing round one tied for 17th place with Mary Hardin-Baylor. Following the first round of the championships, the Big Red are +24 with a team total of 312 on the Mountain View course. Mountain View is a par-72, 5,873-yard course and is one of two courses the Big Red will compete on for this year's national championship.
Round 1 Highlights
Shooting her best first round in four years competing in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, senior Isabella Dolan led the Big Red squad after shooting 74 (+2) across day one. Dolan tallied two birdies, which kept her in the top 30 despite having a tough sixth hole. Just behind Dolan is junior Natalia Fanucchi, who's tied for 54th place with a score of 76 (+4). Fanucchi notched her lone birdie of the day on the 17th hole, boosting her confidence to close out day one of the championships strong.

Up Next for the Big Red
Denison will switch over to Desert Willow Golf Resorts' second course, Firecliff, for round two. The Big Red will compete on the par-72, 5,883-yard Firecliff course on Wednesday, May 20, around 11:40 a.m. PT.
