Relay Teams Highlight Day Two of Fast Break Invitational

Cleveland, Tenn. - The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams of Denison women's track and field featured the group with a first-place and second-place finish on day two of the Fast Break Invitational hosted by Lee University, with the 4x100 relay team posting a new school record. The Big Red were consistent through the track and field events, with numerous Big Red earning points on the day.

Sprints/Distance

In the 100-meter hurdles, Mira Renaldi continued to impress, finishing in 14.86 for fourth-place. Sydney Brown posted a personal-best in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing 10th with a time of 15.72. Shaylee Murdough finished the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:16.63, good for 17th place. Jane McNamara also had a personal-best, finishing with a time of 2:25.03. First-year Arialyn Bischak was the first of the Big Red in the 400-meter dash, placing 10th with a time of 1:00.63. First-year Briyana Hart posted a top-20 finish in the 100-meter dash, speeding her way to a time of 13.25 and 20th.Floralysse Biteau was the highest finisher for the Big Red in the 10k, placing 33rd with a time of 41:30.41.

In the relays, the Denison 4x400 relay team of Arialyn Bischak, Stevie Combs, Shaylee Murdough, and Emily Brennan finished first-place in front of multiple Division One schools, placing a new season-best time of 3:57.10 to highlight the day. In the 4x100 relay, the Denison quartet of Ryan Singer, Emily Brennan, Mira Renaldi, and Stevie Combs posted a season-best time of 48.17 for second place and a new school-record.

Field

Sydney Flores had solid days in the shot put and discus, as she recorded a top-three finish and season-best in the shot put with a mark of 12.96m, and finished sixth in discus with a toss of 37.17m. Also grabbing points in discus was first-year Ryan Singer, who placed seventh right behind Flores with a mark of 36.78m. First-year Gabrielle Turner recorded a top-10 finish in shot put with a throw of 10.90m, and Marisa Bianchi finished 11th in the triple jump (9.98m).
