Savannah, Ga. - In the Big Red's return to competition in the 2025-26 season, #18 Denison women's golf placed ninth in a 19 team field at the Savannah Invitational hosted by Berry College at The Club at Savannah Harbor. The field was highly competitive, featuring nine other top-25 teams, including national championship front-runners Emory and Carnegie Mellon.
Round 1 - In the first round of the event, the Denison team score shaped out to +11. This located them in eighth place, running with a tight pack of top-ranked teams all with similar scores. Natalia Fanucchi led charge for the Big Red on Monday, breaking par with a round of 71 (-2). Three straight birdies on the card got Fanucchi going early, energizing a career-low performance for the junior. Siena Maschke, Lizzy Grant, and Anais Oge all joined Fanucchi in the 70s on the first day, setting themselves up solidly for Tuesday.
Round 2 - The Big Red followed up Monday's scores with another strong showing, with a team score of +17. Fanucchi put together another fantastic day, birdying the final hole to shoot 72 (-1). Her performance was sufficient for a seventh place finish on the individual leaderboard. Denison's lone senior Isabella Dolan improved on her first round by two strokes, firing a 79, with Maschke and Grant matching this score on the day.
