Granville, Ohio- The Big Red had a big weekend of wins, both home and away, leading to five Denison student-athletes being recognized as this week's North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to Oliver DiCerbo, Owen Giannoulias, Finlay Harmon, Anelly Mad-toingué, and Rafaella Ramos for earning this week's NCAC Athlete of the Week nod.

Oliver DiCerbo (Sr. | Lexington, Mass. | Men's XCTF)
DiCerbo had a standout performance at this weekend's Wittenberg Invite. He ran the mile in 4:18.32, earning him a second-place finish out of 52 competitors. His time of 4:18.32 is currently ranked sixth in the NCAC, and is also the sixth fastest time in program history.
Owen Giannoulias (So. | Northbrook, Ill. | Men's Basketball)
Giannoulias averaged ten points per game in Denison's 72-67 win over the College of Wooster, and in the NCAC Conference title clinching 71-70 victory over Ohio Wesleyan. He tallied 11 total assists throughout the two games with just two turnovers. Giannoulias also made the game-winning free throw with 0.6 seconds left in regulation to secure the Big Red's second consecutive NCAC title.
Finlay Harmon (Fy. | Towson, Md. | Women's Lacrosse)
In her college weekend debut, Harmon recorded two hat tricks, five draw controls, three groundballs, and a caused turnover. In Denison's nailbiting win over No. 4 Gettysburg, Harmon, after scoring two goals earlier in the game, put in the game-winning goal for a final score of 11-10. This victory over the Bullets was the first time the Big Red had beaten them in program history. In Denison's matchup against Dickinson, Harmon scored her second set of three goals and picked up one ground ball in the Big Red's 9-4 victory over the Red Devils.
Anelly Mad-toingué (So. | Wellesley, Mass. | Women's Basketball)
Mad-toingué averaged 9.5 points per game, 9 rebounds, and two blocks. Between the two games, she averaged two assists, two steals, and was 64% from the field (9-14). Her most important assist came in the final seconds of the Big Red versus Battling Bishops game. She had the game-winning pass to Ada Taute for the NCAC Championship.Â
Saturday's win over OWU was the first time beating the Battling Bishops since the 2019-2020 season, and the first conference championship since 2015-16.
Rafaella Ramos (Fy. | Lima Peru | Women's Tennis)
First-year Ramos finished the weekend with a 5-0 record, dropping just two total games across two doubles and three singles matches. She earned her first win of the weekend with doubles partner Ariana Rodriguez on Saturday, when she and Rodriguez beat their Wooster opponents 6-0. The Big Red would go on to defeat the Fighting Scots 7-0. Ramos would tack on four more wins in Denison's 7-0 victory over OWU and 6-1 win against DePauw. In flight two of both matches, she beat her opponents 6-0, 6-0, and in number one doubles with Peyton Oda, she defeated the Tigers and Battling Bishops 6-1.

Up Next for these programs
All of these students will be back in action throughout this week. Harmon and the women's lacrosse team host Mount Union on Wednesday, February 25, at 6:30 p.m. for their Home Opener. On Thursday, February 26 at 5 p.m., Mad-toingué and the Big Red women's basketball team host game one of the NCAC semifinals inside Livingston Gymnasium. The next day, Friday, February 27, Giannoulias and the Denison men's basketball team host game two of the men's NCAC semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Also on Friday, DiCerbo and the men's and women's track and field teams travel to Wittenberg for the two-day NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. And rounding out the above student-athletes' competition schedule are Ramos and the women's tennis team, who will spend a weekend in Michigan taking on Hope, Calvin, and Kalamazoo.
