Men’s Tennis Takes Fourth at ITA Indoor Championship

Box Score St. Peter, Minn. - In a rematch of last year's NCAA Division III Men's Tennis National Championship, the Denison men's tennis team fell short in the third place match against No. 5 Case Western this afternoon, 4-3. The Big Red got out to an early 1-0 start, but the Spartans finished strong and would take home the victory. Case Western improves to 10-1, while the Big Red fall to 5-2.

Doubles: Denison fell down a match early, as Rohan Bhat and Anmay Devaraj downed Nick Meyers and Andreas Chapides 6-3. Just a minute later, Ethan Green and Kael Shah picked up the win 6-4 in the No. 1 flight to knot the match up 1-1. Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang clinched in the final match of doubles play, winning 6-4 and giving the Big Red the early point.

Singles: The Spartans quickly tied the match up at one a piece after Rohan Bhat defeated Arya Ganapathy Kallambella in the No. 6 flight. Nick Meyers regained the lead after a tough battle in the No. 6 slot, 7-5, 6-3. Both teams would bounce wins with each other, as Shah lost in the first flight 6-4, 6-4, but Green took back the lead with a three-set thriller to go up 3-2. In the last two matches, the Spartans would have the upper hand, winning both in three-sets to seal the victory, 4-3.
