Granville, Ohio (2/21/26) - For the first time in program history, the Denison women's fencing team hosted the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championship for both Men's and Women's fencing this weekend. The Big Red hosted institutions from all three divisions, with Cleveland State University, Northwestern University, The Ohio State University, Wayne State University, Lawrence University, Detroit Mercy, and Denison. The championship featured over 100 fencers, some of whom have competed in the Olympics, across the two days of competition.

Day One (2/21/26)
Denison women's fencing after day one of the Central Collegiate Fencing Championships finished with a team record of 4-2, placing third overall, and bringing the Big Red's overall record to 25-15. The sabre squad finished third, foil fourth, and epee fifth in their respective weapons.
Notable Performances
Junior sabreist Joyce Yu and first-year epeeist Tessa Randleman tied for MVP of the CCFC championships. Yu finished day one with a record of 8-6 , while Randleman finished day one with an overall record of 8-6.
Leading the foil squad with eight wins for the day was junior Lal Ertun, ultimately finishing with a record of 8-7. Rounding out the day, one notable performance was senior foilist Velma Hall, who made history by earning her 301st win; she is the first Denison fencer to reach 300 career wins.Â

Day two featured individual pool matches that resulted in celebrating the top-eight finishers. Though Denison didn't have any individuals finish in the top eight, they did notch five top fifteen finishes and celebrate senior day.Â
