Eight Big Red Selected to CSC Academic All-District® Football Team

Granville, Ohio - Eight members of the Denison football team were named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, to acknowledge the top student-athletes in the nation for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Earning the distinction for this year were seniors Will Gause, Canyon Schneider, and Jack Williams; juniors Grayson Kerscher, Drew Duffy, and Chase Daniel; sophomores Cole Compton and Rory Ralston.

Will Gause (Offensive Line | Sr. | Charleston, S.C.) - The senior Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major makes it his second consecutive year on the All-Academic District® team. Gause has been a staple on the Big Red offensive line throughout his career, as he started in 36 out of 38 games in his four seasons at Denison. He helped anchor a line that would propel quarterback Tyler Green to multiple records broken and a high-powered offense.

Canyon Schneider (Offensive Line | Sr. | West Jefferson, Ohio) - Schneider, a Chemistry major, earns his third All-District® team distinction. The Second Team All-NCAC center helped direct the offensive line along with Gause to 31.2 points per game and first in the conference in passing offense. Along with his off-the-field success, Schneider was a part of the AFCA All-State Good Works Team.

Jack Williams (Wide Receiver | Sr. | Wooster, Ohio) - Williams is the second Big Red to be on the Academic All-District® team for the third consecutive season. The senior majoring in Data Analytics was a key contributor in the high octane Denison passing attack, hauling in 55 passes for 552 yards and six touchdowns.

Grayson Kerscher (Wide Receiver | Jr. | Naples, Fla.) - Kerscher appears on the Academic All-District® team for the first time in his career. The junior Financial Economics major had quite the 2025 season, as he grabbed First Team All-NCAC honors and grabbed 78 passes for 1,239 yards and 12 touchdowns while ranking in the top five in numerous school records and nationally.

Drew Duffy (Defensive Line | Jr. | Glenview, Ill.) - His second consecutive Academic All-District honor, the Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) major had a solid junior season for the Big Red. Duffy had 25 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack, while also tallying four quarterback hits, one pass breakup, and a blocked kick.

Chase Daniel (Linebacker | Jr. | Rock Mountain, Va.) - Daniel lands on the Academic All-District® team for the first time in his career. The Spanish and Global Commerce double major anchored a Big Red defense with 48 tackles, six tackles for loss and an interception. His tackles were good for fourth on the team and was also second in tackles for loss. Daniel also recorded two fumble recoveries and a pass breakup.

Cole Compton (Defensive Line | So. | Upper Arlington, Ohio) - Compton, a sophomore majoring in Financial Economics, is one of two sophomores on the Big Red to be named Academic All-District®. He was a key piece to the Denison defensive line, as he recorded 10 tackles and a tackle for loss to help the defense to fifth in the conference in opponent scoring.

Rory Ralston (Linebacker | So. | Columbus, Ohio) - Ralston, a linebacker from Columbus, Ohio majoring in Education, lands on Academic All-District® for the first time in his career. The sophomore had a breakout season, recording 57 tackles, nine and a half for loss, and one and a half sacks. He ranked first on the team in tackles for loss and quarterback hits, and was second in tackles.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District®, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
