Granville, Ohio - Junior Grayson Kerscher of the Denison football team has been named a second-team Academic All-America® by the College Sports Communicators for the 2025-26 season.

A Financial Economics major from Naples, Fla., Kerscher not only got it done in the classroom, but on the field as well. He racked up 78 catches for 1,239 yards and 12 touchdowns. His yards and yards per game (123.9) both ranked second in the nation in the regular season, and his receptions was 10th. He rewrote the Denison record books as well, as he ranked top five in receiving yards in a season (2nd), receptions in a season (2nd), receiving touchdowns (3rd), had 197 yards receiving in their game against nationally-ranked DePauw (5th), has the longest reception in Denison history (99-yards), and is the third Big Red to record over 1,000 yards receiving in a season. Kerscher was also named first-team All-NCAC and third-team All-Region to add to his impressive resume.

This achievement increases Denison's total to 130 Academic All-Americans® in school history. It is the program's first All-America® honoree since Alex Minton (second team) and Ben Cross (first team) were honored in 2019. Kerscher is the 10th Big Red football player to land on Academic All-America®, and it is the 13th overall distinction in program history.

Established in 1952, the Academic All-America® program, selected by College Sports Communicators, is a premier nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It annually recognizes over 1,400 outstanding student-athletes across Division I, II, III, and NAIA, representing all NCAA championship sports.
