Pittsburgh, Pa.: In its second meet of the New Year, the Denison women's swimming and diving team defeated Carnegie Mellon University 214-74 on the road. En route to their dominant duel win, the Big Red swept six individual events, and totaled 35 top-three finishes

Denison kicked off its duel against the Tartans with a first and second place win in the 200 Medley Relay. Taking first with a time of 1:43.43, was Jassy Park, Gwen Bakker, Phoebe Ferguson, Ollie Morse, who recorded a Tartan pool record. Coming in second place with a time of 1:45.68, was Avery Anderson, Drue Thielking, Maddie Schaefer, and Emily Harris.Â
In the 1000 Free, Anna Kuhel finished first with a time of 10:39.90, while teammate Lucy Hardart finished second after swimming it in 10:46.71. Denison would collect its first sweep of the day in the 200 Free, where Reilly O'Hara (1:52.46), Phoebe Ferguson (1:54.11), and Courtney McKeown (1:55.60) finished one, two, and three. In the 100 Back, Jassy Park took home first with a time of 56.75, while teammates Gwen Bakker (1:03.22), Drue Thielking (1:03.73), and Audrey Brink (1:04.53) swept the top three times in the 100 Breast.
In the 200 Fly, Emily Harris finished in 2:01.11 for first place, while Erika Schraber finished in third with a time of 2:09.88. The Big Red would record its third sweep of the day in the 50 Free, after Ollie Morse (23.90), Maddie Schaefer (24.02), and Hailey Kaminski (24.55) recorded the top three times. Denison continued to dominate in the 100 Free, this time Harris (51.29) took first place, Morse finished second with a time of 52.16, and Kaminski finished third (54.35).Â
Avery Anderson and McKeown would finish in second and third place, respectively, in the 200 Back, with Anderson finishing in 2:05.43, and McKeown finishing with a time of 2:05.80. In the 200 Breast, the Big Red recorded yet another sweep, with Bakker taking first with a time of 2:16.63, followed by Thielking (2:18.78), and Brink (2:19.73). Not to be outdone, O'Hara (4:59.97), Quinn Brown (5:08.00), and Kuhel (5:16.71) would finish with the top-three times in the 500 Free. In the 100 Fly, Park recorded her second first-place finish of the day with a time of 56.40, followed closely by second-place finisher Ferguson (56.58). Rounding out the scored swimming events were Ferguson and Thielking, who swam the 200 IM in 2:04.53 and 208.58 respectively for first and second place.
Diving Results
Lu-Si Minnich scored 265.05 points in the 1-meter dive and 258.82 in the 3-meter dive for first place. While teammate Fernanda Anzures scored 200.40 points in the 1-meter dive and 165.82 points in the 3-meter dive for second place.Â
