Mike Deegan Named ABCA and ATEC Region VII Coach of the Year

Granville, Ohio—Last week, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and ATEC announced the 2025 Division III Baseball Regional Coaches of the Year recipients, and Denison Baseball's head coach, Mike Deegan was named the Region VII Coach of the Year for a second consecutive season.
 
In his thirteenth season leading the Big Red Baseball team, Deegan guided Denison to a 41-7 record, marking the team's first NCAA College World Series appearance in program history. On their way to the World Series, the Big Red secured the program's fifth North Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship, their sixth NCAC Tournament title, their seventh NCAA Division III Regional Tournament appearance, and their first NCAA Division III Super Regional title.
 
Since taking over the Denison Baseball team, Deegan holds an overall record of 378-155 (.709), and an overall conference record of 169-52 (.765).
 
Founded in 1945, the ABCA is the primary professional organization for amateur baseball coaches at the amateur level. It's over 15,000 members span all 50 states and 41 countries. Since its first meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, the association has expanded to include nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth, and Travel.
