Denison Women's Swimming & Diving Finish in Fourth Place at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

Greensboro, N.C.- Making its 40th appearance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the Denison University women's swimming and diving team tallied its 33rd top-five finish after taking fourth at the 2025 championships, totaling 370.5 points. Fellow North Coast Athletic Conference member Kenyon finished in third with 438 points; in second place was NYU with 470, and taking home the title for the 2025 championships was MIT with 497.  

On the final day of competition, the Big Red recorded seven All-American performances, five of which were first-team honors. Denison collected 26 All-American finishes, 13 individual first-team honors, five relays earned first-team finishes, and nine second-team All-Americans were awarded across the four-day championship.

On the last day of the NCAA championships, the Big Red qualified for four different A final events and one B final. In the first final event of day four, Quinn Brown finished fifth in the 1650 Free after she shaved off four seconds from her prelim time and touched the wall at 16:49.57. Earning second-team honors in the 1650 Free was senior Taryn Wisner, who finished with a time of 17:12.32. Avery Vogen and Grace Kadlecik earned spots in the A final for the 100 Free, and Vogen finished in 50.56 seconds for fifth place, followed by Kadlecik, who tied for seventh after swimming it in 50.90.

With three events left for the day, Denison was gradually cementing themselves into the top five. First-year Caroline Ramirez grabbed a handful of points in the 200 Back after earning a spot in the B final and ultimately finishing in 11th place with a time of 2:00.37. Swimming, the final individual event of the day, was Drue Thielking. Thielking took fourth place in the A final of the 200 Breast after touching the wall at 2:12.42. 

Denison would close out its 2024-25 season with a fourth-place finish in the 400 Free Relay, where Avery Vogen, Grace Kadlecik, Phoebe Ferguson, and Emily Harris swam a 3:21.17, collecting the 30 points, allowing them to hold onto its fourth place standings. The Big Red finished the regular season with a record of 4-4, were ranked first for three consecutive months, and never dipped below the top-five programs. In the 2025 NCAC Championships, they finished runner-up to the Owls after logging 32 All-NCAC finishes; Kerstyn Johnson secured NCAC's Diver of the Year award for the third time in her career, and head diving coach Russ Bertram claimed his third consecutive NCAC Diving Coaching Staff of the Year award.
