Greensboro, N.C.- With two days of Championship competition down, the Denison men's swimming and diving team holds steady in first place with 166 points. Trailing the Big Red is fellow North Coast Athletic Conference program Kenyon College with 126, and in third is the University of Chicago with 124. Securing three All-American finishes in four of the day's events, Denison kept its opponents at bay for a while longer.Â
Securing 18 points for the Big Red after finishing national runner-up in the 200 freestyle,
Jack Hill not only took second place in the event but also his time of 1:35.82 broke the 16-year-old record of 1:37.20, held by David Curtis since 2009. Hill would later swim the first leg of the 200 Free Relay with
Patrick Daly,
Andre Beduschi, and
Nick Hensel and secure a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:19.57. In the prelims of the of the 200 free, Hensel swam the opening leg in 19.78, breaking the 50 free varsity record held by Aaron Cole (19.90) since 1999.Â
Lucas Conrads, who secured a spot in the 400 IM B finals for the Big Red, rounded out the All-American performances. He finished in 11th place overall with a time of 3:54.49, earning him second-team All-American honors.Â
