Indianapolis, Ind. (March 20, 2026)- Denison men's swimming and diving stays on top after three days of competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Day three kept the Big Red on its toes, with Denison missing two events finals to kick off the day, but that was overshadowed by two National Champions and a National record in the 800 Free Relay at the tail end of the day.
A lot of changes in the standings occurred throughout day three. Though Denison remained in first place, the day's events were tightly contested. The Big Red would complete the day with 313.5 points, followed closely by a new second-place team, NYU, with 283 points. The Maroons of UChicago dropped down to third place with 256 points, followed by Emory with 240.
What Happened in Prelims
Diving played a crucial role on day three after a tough start for Denison. In the prelims, the Big Red had senior duo Nick Fogle and Brendan Stanley hold tightly to two top-eight spots heading into the final dives of the early afternoon. Seamus McCann would also finish strong in his national 1-meter debut, scoring 393.30 points after his 11 dives. Though Stanley got bumped to the B-Finals of the 1-meter, he made the most of the situation, taking first-place in the consultation round with a point total of 474.90.
Additional Final Qualifiers
100 Back-B Finals: Ben Bevill (48.64 | 16th)
100 Breast- A Finals: Liam Nelson (54.22 | 8th)

Day Three Finals
Denison's first points of the evening session came in the 100 Back, with Ben Bevill moved up five spots from his prelim finish, to take 11th place with a time of 48.07 in the B-Finals. In the 100 Breast A-Final Big Red's Liam Nelson finished in eighth place with a time of 53.81.Â
Ahead of the 1-meter A-Finals, Denison found itself just behind NYU, and like day one, Fogle continued to showcase the Big Red diving dominance. Fogle would tally four 50+ point dives with huge points recorded in his third (65.10) and fifth (60.00), to give him a point total of 548.80.Â
Denison's slow start in the main pool was eventually eclipsed in the final event of the night, the 800 Free Relay. With the momentum of Fogle's title propelling them, the team of Jack Hill, George Goins, Harry Parsons, and Nick Hensel not only finished in first place but also shattered the NCAA record of 6:26.28, with a time of 6:22.37. With the final two events completed, the Big Red holds a 30 .5 point advantage over second-place NYU (283) heading into the final day of competition.
