Box Score Redlands, Calif.- Securing its second win of Spring Break, the No. 4 Denison men's tennis team defeated No. 19 University of Redlands 6-1. Denison improved to 7-1, while Redlands dropped to 2-3 for the season.

In its final tune-up before the Stag Hen Tourney, the Denison Big Red jumped to an early lead, sweeping the doubles matches. Duo Colin Gramley and Jacob Patterson took the first match, beating their opponents 6-1. Andreas Chapides and Nick Meyers, defeated their opponents on court three by a 6-4 decision. Ethan Green and Kael Shah battled it out with Vitomir Petcov and Jack Fanshawe, beating the pair 7-5 to complete the doubles sweep.

In singles play, Denison played their game and quickly put up three more points after Patterson, Anthony Payiavlas, and Chapides won in straight sets. The final three matches were three-set marathons, with Kael Shah and Meyers coming out with a win, while Mason Conlin came up just short of a comeback win.

"It was a good, hard-fought match between two top 20 teams. Redlands is a good team, especially on their home courts. They played very aggressively, which gave us a fair amount of trouble," said head coach David Schilling about the Big Red's second Spring Break match. "I was proud of our guys because we bounced back with more energy today, and they showed a lot of heart. We will spend the next couple of days working on the things that we saw over the past two days and then get ready for the Stag Hen tournament this weekend, which is one of the top division tournaments of the year."
