Granville, Ohio- The Denison women's track and field team takes third out of nine teams at the 2025 Bob Shannon Invitational after recording 74 points. The Big Red tallied seven individual top-five and three top-three finishes in relay events across the invitational.
Distance
In the distance medley relay, Alexis Verdell,
Abby McChesney,
Jane McNamara, and
Fiona Martinelli came in second with a time of 13:11.95. Big Red's
Lauren Perretta ran the 3000-meter run in 12:55.94 for fourth place.
Mid-Distance and Sprints
Denison tallied three top-three finishes in mid-distance and sprinting events.
Anaya Jolivette finished third in the 60-meter dash after crossing the finish line at 8.03.
Sydney Brown competed in the 60-meter hurdles and earned second after finishing in 9.32 seconds. Teammate
Mira Renaldi earned fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.56. In the 4x200-meter relay, the Big Red's
Ava Sinex,
Anaya Jolivette,
Libby Hornick, and
Emily Brennan finished first with a time of 1:48.72. Brennan,
Lillian Wallace-Larkin, Renaldi,
Abby McChesney finished fifth place in the 4x400-meter relay (4:19.32).
Field Events
Rounding out Denison's top-five finishers are
Evie Sparks, who cleared a height of 2.90m (9-06.25) in pole vault for second place.
Anaya Jolivette took fifth in long jump after jumping a distance of 4.70m (15-05.00). Lastly,
Sydney Flores took home third after throwing a distance of 11.78m (38-07.75) in shot put.
