Oberlin, Ohio- The Denison women's track and field team competed in two meets this weekend,
Sydney Brown and
Julia Schena traveled to Oberlin College for the North Coast Athletic Conference Combined Events Championships, while the rest of the Big Red traveled to Springfield, Ohio for the Wittenberg Invitational.
NCAC INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS:Â
Brown and Schena secured a total of eight points heading into next week's NCAC Indoor Championships, after Brown took fourth with 2,737 points, and Schena recorded 2,648 points for sixth place in the pentathlon.Â
Brown improved her point total from her 2024 performance by 548 points. She shaved time off of her hurdles time, improved her high jump height by .17 meters, threw shot put 2.02m more than her 2024 distance, and ran the 800m run faster by almost 24 seconds.

WITTENBERG INVITATIONAL: The Denison women's track and field team traveled to Springfield, Ohio, to compete in the 2025 Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday, February 22. Below are the top-ten finishes.
Top-10 Finishes:
- Emily Brennan- finished tenth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.55
- Cate Gagnier- finished in eighth place in pole vault after clearing a height of 3.20m (10-06.00)
- Anaya Jolivette- took ninth in long jump with a distance of 4.98m (16-04.25), she would later finish eight in the 200m dash with a time of 26.09

The Denison Big Red travel to Oberlin, Ohio, on Friday, Feb. 28, for the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Championships will last through Saturday, Mar. 1.
