Gambier, Ohio- The Denison men's swimming and diving team continued to demonstrate the team's depth of talent at Kenyon College's First Chance Invitational. Throughout the evening, the Big Red placed multiple members in the top three of every event swam and produced personal best times that mirror some of the NCAA Championship times set last year. With such dominance demonstrated across the roster, a handful of swimmers had standout performances.

Senior Tyler Distenfeld swam the 500-yard free in 4:26.98, which was just under his top-ten NCAA Division III Championship time of 4:27.20. Fellow seniors Gavin Jones and Shea Card also improved their personal best times with Jones taking first in the 200-yard breast with a time of 1:58.33. Card shaved one second from his 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship time in the 200-yard back (1:48.60).

First-year Ben Campbell finished the 1650-yard free in 15:39.23, moving him into the national rankings top-15 after swimming 12 seconds faster than his NCAC time just a week prior. Rounding out the Big Red's spectacular performances is sophomore Liam Nelson, who improved his 100-yard breast time by one second (54.38) for a new personal best and finished his 200-yard breast time trial in 1:58.38, which was two seconds faster than his 16th place finish at the NCAAs last year.

The Big Red returns to the pool deck on Saturday, February 22, at 12 p.m. for day two of the Kenyon College Fast Chance Meet.
