Granville, Ohio– The Denison men's swimming and diving team put the finishing touches on a commanding championship performance, claiming the 2025 NCAC title with a staggering 2,061.5 points—more than 400 points ahead of second-place Kenyon (1,642 points). The Big Red delivered a series of dominant swims on the final day, securing multiple NCAA "B" cut times and relay victories to solidify their championship run.
Denison's distance swimmers kicked off the night with a 1-2 finish in the 1650 freestyle, as
Lucas Conrads (15:32.51) took gold, followed closely by
George Goins (15:43.18) in second, both with NCAA "B" cut times.
The 100 IM saw another Denison 1-2 finish, with
Patrick Daly clocking 49.57 to win and beat yet another NCAC record, while
Christian Narcelles (50.09) touched second.
Max Soja placed fourth (51.41), showcasing the Big Red's depth in the event.
In the 200 backstroke,
Devin Testin finished runner-up in 1:46.40, with teammates
Luke Swiggett (1:48.34) and
Ben Bevill (1:48.58) taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Denison made a statement in the 100 freestyle, earning three of the top four spots.
Jack Hill placed second (43.90), followed by
Nick Hensel in third (43.93) and
Andre Beduschi in fourth (44.39).
The 200 breaststroke saw a 1-2 finish for the Big Red, with
Elijah Venos winning in 1:56.67, which was not only an NCAA "B" cut time but also another NCAC record.
Gavin Jones secured silver in 1:59.19, while
Christian McIntire (2:01.68) and
Liam Nelson (2:02.51) also cracked the top five.
Denison kept rolling in the 200 butterfly, as
Max Lough (1:47.40) took first place, Soja (1:48.92) finished third and Narcelles (1:51.01) took fourth.
The Big Red diving squad continued its dominance, sweeping the podium in three-meter diving.
Nick Fogle earned the title with a score of 515.30, followed by
Brendan Stanley (473.35) and
Brock Butchko (416.85).
To cap off the night, the 400 freestyle relay team of Hensel, Hill, Beduschi, and Daly delivered a first-place finish in 2:55.32, securing one final NCAC title for Denison.
