GRANVILLE, Ohio (February 14) — The Denison men's swimming & diving team continued its strong performance on night three of the 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships, winning three events, breaking an NCAC record, and maintaining their lead in the team standings with 1,287 points.
Andre Beduschi took second place in the opening event of the night with a time of 48.69 in the 100 butterfly. Teammate Lucas Conrads also claimed a silver finish in the 400 IM with an NCAA "B" cut time of 3:53.75.
Denison had a dominant showing in the 200 freestyle earning a podium sweep. Sophomore Jack Hill secured the title with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:36.97, just .06 seconds off the NCAC record. George Goins and Christian McIntire claimed silver and bronze in 1:29.23 and 1:39.51 respectively. These victories contributed to the Big Red's expanding lead.
Senior Elijah Venos followed with another 100 breaststroke championship, claiming back-to-back titles in the event. Venos set a new NCAC record and clocked an NCAA "B" cut time of 53.34. The Big Red saw two more NCAA "B" cut times in the event with Patrick Daly taking second in 53.44 and Nick Hensel taking fourth in 55.11.
The 100 back saw a second and third-place finish from Ben Bevill and Devin Testin who both earned NCAA "B" cut times at 48.34 and 49.16 respectively.
In the 200 freestyle relay, the Big Red squad of Hensel, Hill, Harry Parsons, and Daly dominated the field with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:19.52. The relay win capped off another successful night for Denison, ensuring their lead remained intact heading into the final day of competition.
With 1,287 points through three days of action, Denison leads the team standings, 207 points ahead of second-place Kenyon (1,074).
The 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships continue through Saturday evening, with preliminary sessions beginning at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m.
