GRANVILLE, Ohio (Feb. 12) — The Denison women's swimming & diving team opened the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships with a pair of relay victories and a dominant showing on the boards, positioning themselves in second place with 236 points after the first night of competition at the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
The Big Red kicked off the evening with a statement win in the 200 medley relay, securing their first title in the event since 2020. The team of sophomores Jassy Park and Riley Tofflemire and seniors Maja Palmroos and Grace Kadlecik posted an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:40.37 to take gold.
Denison continued its success in the diving well, claiming a sweep of the top three spots on the three-meter board. Junior Lu-si Minnich successfully defended her conference title, winning the event for the second straight year with a score of 448.20. Kerstyn Johnson finished in second place with 444.80 points and Alexis Radhakrishnan rounded out the podium finish with 433.55 points to take third.
The Big Red wrapped up the opening night with a third consecutive NCAC championship in the 800 freestyle relay. Juniors Emily Harris and Phoebe Ferguson, senior Taryn Wisner, and junior Quinn Brown dominated the field, touching the wall in an NCAA "B" cut time of 7:18.85—more than seven seconds faster than their seed time.
After night one, Denison trails Kenyon (281) in the team standings, with Wooster (135), Oberlin (134), and DePauw (120) rounding out the top five.
The 2025 NCAC Championships continue through Saturday evening, with preliminary heats starting at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. each night.
