Sollinger and Zavislak named to United Coaches Association All-Region Teams

Granville, Ohio- Two members of the Denison women's soccer team were named to the United Coaches Association Region VII Teams. Senior Sarah Sollinger earned a spot on the All-Region first team for the second consecutive season, while sophomore Maryn Zavislak was named to the fourth team.

Sarah Sollinger (Defender | Sr. | Evanston, Ill.) - Sollinger earned her second-straight first team All-Region honors after an impressive senior campaign. The senior defender helped lead the Big Red to seven shutouts and only gave up 14 goals all season. In conference play, Sollinger anchored the backline to three shutouts and only three goals for an average of .42 goals per game. The NCAC Defensive Player of the Year started in all 19 games and accumulated 1,642 minutes played. In her career, Sollinger played and started in 68 games and had over 5,000 minutes played.

Maryn Zavislak (Midfielder | So. | Westerville, Ohio) - Zavislak earns All-Region honors for the first time in her career, landing on the fourth team after an impressive sophomore season. The NCAC Midfielder of the Year started in all 19 games, and helped the Big Red to a .74 opponent goals per game, which ranked third in the conference. Zavislak had one goal, 27 shots and 18 on target. She amassed 1,560 minutes played, and helped Denison to seven shutouts over the course of the season.

The Big Red finished their season with an overall record of 9-5-5 and a conference record of 3-1-3, and had a tough 1-0 loss to John Carroll University in the NCAC Tournament Championship game in their finale.
