Austin, Texas- Senior defender Sarah Sollinger of the Denison University women's soccer team has been named as a Third-Team Academic All-America® as selected by College Sports Communicators for the 2025 season.
Sollinger (Evanston, Ill | Journalism)- After earning her second consecutive United Soccer Coaches All-Region nod and third consecutive AcademicAll-District® team honor of her career, Sollinger has earned her first Academic All-America® selection after starting in all 19 contests her senior season. She anchored the Big Red defensive line, helping lead the team to three shutouts and only three goals for an average of 0.42 goals per game throughout conference play, earning her the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award.
This achievement raises Denison's total to 129 Academic All-Americans® in school history. Sollinger earned her first Academic All-America® honors, adding to women's soccer Academic All-America® recognition, which now totals ten. She is the fifth Big Red player to receive third-team honors, and the first member of the team to receive this honor since 2014.
Established in 1952, the Academic All-America® program, selected by College Sports Communicators, is a premier nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It annually recognizes over 1,400 outstanding student-athletes across Division I, II, III, and NAIA, representing all NCAA championship sports.
