Granville, Ohio- Five members of the Denison women's soccer team were named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, to acknowledge the top student-athletes in the nation for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Earning the recognition this year for the women's team were sophomore Maryn Zavislak, junior Mattie Mielke, and seniors Avery Butler, Molly Noga, and Sarah Sollinger.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
Zavislak, who majors in Biology and is pursuing a Global Health minor, earns a spot on the Academic All-District team for the first time, after scoring one game-winning goal during Denison's 9-5-5 season. This fall, Zavislak, a sophomore from Westerville, Ohio, started in all 19 games, contributing on both ends of the field as a midfielder, and earning her an all-conference first-team selection and the North Coast Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year.
Mielke, a junior midfielder and Global Health and Commerce double major from Denver, Colo., also earned a first-time nod as an Academic All-District team member for her efforts this season. Mielke started all 19 games, led the team in goals with 5, and was second in assists with 3, earning All-NCAC second-team honors.
Butler, a senior defender from Chicago, Ill., notched her second Academic All-District nod after playing a crucial role in the Big Red's backline. In her final season with Denison, Butler scored one game-winning goal and dished out two assists for the year. She also started in all 19 games, contributing to the Big Red's seven shutouts throughout the 2025 season. Across her career, she scored six goals, tallied seven assists, and recorded four game-winners. The Global Commerce and Spanish double major is also involved in Denison's Women in Business organization, as well as Mission 34 and Tri Delta Sorority.
Noga, a senior goalkeeper from Springboro, Ohio, earned her second Academic All-District nod after a strong performance in her senior season. The Psychology major finished the 2025 campaign with seven shutouts and a save percentage of 0.841. For her career, she totaled 160 saves and had a save percentage of 0.788. Noga wrapped her career with a record of 23-14-16. Off the field, Noga has worked with the Denison Athletics Department, served as the Fundraising Coordinator for Women in Business, and been a Denison Student Consultant with Red Frame Lab.
Rounding out the Academic All-District team members is senior defender Sollinger. Sollinger is a Journalism major from Evanston, Ill., and earns her third Academic All-District team honor of her career. Sollinger started in all 19 games, anchoring the Big Red's defensive line and ultimately earning NCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. A three-time All-NCAC team recipient and a Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society inductee, Sollinger is also a student writer for the Denisonian and a teaching assistant on Denison's campus.
