Big Red Take Two out of Three in Day Two of the 2025 Elite Invitational

Columbus, Ohio - After splitting on day one at the Ohio State Elite Invitational, the Big Red went 2-1 in day two after defeating Cleveland State and Air Force, while losing in a close loss to the Buckeyes. On the weekend, the Big Red went 4-3 against top-ranked competition. 

Denison kicked off their competition on Sunday at 11 a.m. with a 19-8 win over Cleveland State, with the foil squad going 8-1 against the Vikings. In their second matchup, Denison took on Air Force in what would be a close-fought victory for the Big Red, 16-11. Then at 3 p.m., the Big Red faced off against the 6th-ranked Buckeyes, and would fall 16-11 after a battle between all three squads. In total, the foil squad led the Big Red in wins, going 18-9. The sabre group trailed not too far behind, going 16-11, and epee went 12-15 on Sunday.

Senior Velma Hall was the MVP on the weekend with a 13-6 record (68% wins). First-year Tessa Randleman led the epee squad with a record of 10-9 (53% wins), and junior Corvus Endo paced the sabre squad with a 9-5 record (64% wins).

Up Next for the Big Red:

The Big Red will have a couple weeks off before they travel out west for the Western Invitational hosted by Air Force at the USAF Academy in Colorado on November 22-23.
