The Big Red Fall to the Owls in Home Dual

Granville, Ohio- In its second home dual of the season, Denison University women's swimming and diving hosted North Coast Athletic Conference rival, Kenyon College, on Saturday. Despite losing to the Owls 170-130, Denison showed its depth across all the events.

Diving Results

For the first time since the NCAAs, Denison Diving takes on Kenyon for the 2025-26 season. Leading the Big Red with two first-place finishes was Lu-Si Minnich. Minnich finished the day taking first place in the 3-meter dive with a point total of 268.13, and in the 1-meter tallied 255.00. Minnich notched two 21.75 dives in the 3-meter, the first was a forward 2 ½ somersault pike, and the second was a reverse 1 ½ somersault tuck.

Teammate Fernanda Anzures finished fifth with a point total of 164.18 in the 3-meter dive, and took fourth place in the 1-meter dive, recording 186.53 points. Anzures' best dive of the day on the 3-meter was her third dive, an inward 1 ½ somersault tuck, for 19.50 points.

 

Top swimming performances:

Denison's upperclassmen anchored the team's success, recording five first-place finishes, and in total, 17 individuals and relays earned top-three finishes throughout the day. Denison opened the meet with a sound first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, with Jassy Park, Riley Tofflemire, Phoebe Ferguson, and Ollie Morse (1:43.83). Leading the Big Red with two individual first-place finishes is Emily Harris. Harris tallied two first-place finishes: 200 Fly (2:05.21) and in the 100 IM (4:31.07). She would later tack on another top-three finish in the 100 free. Joining Harris as first-place finishers was Drue Thielking, who swam the 200 Breast in 2:20.08. Rounding out the individual top finishers was Phoebe Ferguson, who earned first-place in the 100 fly with a time of 56.69.

3rd- 200 Back: Avery Anderson (2:07.40)

2nd 200 Free Relay: Hailey Kaminski, Ollie Morse, Maddie Schaefer, Phoebe Ferguson  (1:36.50)

 

Up next for the Big Red

Denison swimming and diving travels to University Heights, Ohio to take on the newest edition to the North Coast Athletic Conference, John Carroll University. On Saturday, Nov. 15, the Big Red will take on the Blue Streaks at 2 p.m. inside the William H. Johnson Natatorium.
