NEW ORLEANS, La. (March 5, 2024) – All-Region honorees for the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), and Denison University's
Jacob Brown (heptathlon) and
Ari Skolnik (60 meter hurdles) were both recognized as All-Great Lakes Region performers.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Brown was named all-region in the heptathlon for the third year in a row after recording 4,895 points to win the North Coast Athletic Conference Combined Events Championship (Feb. 17-18) at Kenyon College. Brown has broken the Denison school record in the heptathlon five times in his career, and he currently ranks 14th in all of NCAA Division III and first in the Great Lakes Region in the event.
Skolnik ran a school record time of 8.12 seconds set during his win in the finals of the event at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships (Feb. 10). Skolnik ranks second in the Great Lakes Region and is tied for 20th nationally in his event.
Both Brown and Skolnik were selected to compete at the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships this week. The 2024 NCAA Division III men's and women's indoor track and field championships will be held on Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, hosted by Norfolk State. The heptathlon will begin at 10 a.m. each day while the men's 60 meter hurdles will have prelims at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, followed by the finals at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday.
