Women's Swimming finishes as runner-up at 2024 Denison Invitational


GRANVILLE, Ohio (Dec. 7) – The Denison University women's swimming team recorded an additional 11 NCAA 'B' cut times to finish off its runner-up finish at the 2024 Denison Invitational. The three-day invitational was hosted at the Trumbull Aquatics Center. 
 
The fifth-ranked Big Red totaled 1645.5 points to finish second at the event. Emory University, ranked first in the most recent Division III poll by the CSCAA, finished as team champions on the women's side with 1979 points. The University of Indianapolis, ranked nationally in Division II, finished in third place with 1478 points. Division I Eastern Michigan University slotted in fourth with 1188.5 points while Washington University of St. Louis totaled 1031 points. 
 
Quinn Brown opened the evening session with another victory. Brown picked up the title in the 1650 Free with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 16:53.16.  
 
Caroline Ramirez logged a 'B' cut time of 2:03.08 to finish in fifth place in the 200 Back. 
 
Denison had four of the top nine in the 100 Free finals. Olivia Morse was the top finisher, using her 'B' cut time of 51.34 to finish fourth in the event. Grace Kadlecik finished sixth (51.71), Amber Croonquist was eighth (51.86) and Avery Vogen placed ninth (52.04). 
 
Drue Thielking secured third place in the 200 Breaststroke. The junior clocked in with a time of 2:15.90, which secured her a 'B' cut mark. Also earning a 'B' cut mark in the event was Riley Tofflemire, who finished in seventh at 2:20.04. 
 
Three members of the Big Red made the finals in the 200 Fly. Emily Harris led the way with a time of 2:02.25, which put her third and gave her a 'B' cut mark. Emma Pritchett finished fourth with a 'B" cut time of 2:04.92. Kayla Tehrani finished sixth at 2:05.39.  
 
Denison closed the event with a second-place effort in the 400 Free Relay. Harris, Morse, Croonquist and Kadlecik compiled a time of 3:25.07 to earn a 'B' cut time.
