GRANVILLE, Ohio (Dec. 6) -- The Denison men's swimming team, ranked third in NCAA Division III, totaled 17 NCAA 'B' cut times during competition Friday at the Trumbull Aquatic Center.
The third-ranked Big Red squad is in first place with 1366 points after Friday's two sessions. Emory University is second at 1284 while University of Indianapolis is third (1098.5) and Wash U of St. Louis is fourth with 759.5 points.
Tyler Distenfeld picked up a victory in the 200 Free finals to highlight the evening session. Distenfeld logged a lifetime best time of 1:38.46. That time is an NCAA 'B' cut mark.
Denison opened the evening with a third-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.

Patrick Daly,
Christian Narcelles and
Nick Hensel compiled to log an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:27.81 in the event.
Lucas Conrads put together a 'B' cut time of 3:54.88 to finish third in the 400 IM.
Luke Swiggett placed sixth with a 'B' cut time of 3:58.82.
Connor Brown and
Max Soja finished seventh and ninth, respectively, in the finals. Soja had a 'B' cut time of 3:57.91 in the prelims Friday morning.
Jones joined Distenfeld in the 200 Free finals. Jones finished in eighth place with a time of 1:40.15.
Denison put three in the top nine of the 100 Breaststroke. Daly finished fourth (53.64),
Elijah Venos was fifth (54.44) and
Liam Nelson was ninth (55.24). All three times were 'B' cut marks.
Bevill and Testin turned in 'B' cut times in the 100 Back finals. Bevill put together a time of 48.92 to finish fifth while Testin was sixth at 49.00. Hill finished eighth at 49.32.
Denison closed day two with a runner up finish in the 800 Free Relay. Hill, Distenfeld,
Clay Perry and Conrads clocked in with a 'B' cut time of 6:35.42.
