KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 13) – Following an historic 2024 season, the Denison University men's soccer team finished the campaign ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll. The final poll of the season was released earlier this week by the organization.
Denison put together a 15-2-6 overall record with an unbeaten 6-0-2 mark in league play to collect the program's third overall NCAC Championship.
The Big Red qualified for the NCAA Tournament and picked up three victories to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals for just the second time in program history (1979). The NCAA postseason run was highlighted by Denison's 1-0 overtime win over top-ranked Mary Washington in the Third Round on Nov. 23. Denison recorded more NCAA Tournament wins this season (3) than they had in their entire history combined prior (2). This marked the first time in program history that Denison recorded multiple wins in the NCAA Tournament.
In 23 games overall, Denison recorded 142 points on 52 goals and 38 assists, while shutting out 14 opponents and only allowing 12 goals (0.51 GAA) overall.
This marks another in a long list of honors from the United Soccer Coaches. Denison recently had its coaching staff earn Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors from the organization. The Big Red had three student-athletes earn All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches –
Jake Krueger (Second Team),
Tommy Prokos (Third Team) and
Henri Heyes (Fourth Team). In addition, four team members earned First Team All-Region accolades.
