GAMBIER, Ohio (Nov. 9) – The Denison University women's swimming & diving team fell on the road Saturday to top-ranked Kenyon College in a meet held at James A. Steen Aquatic Center in Gambier, Ohio. The Owls took the meet by a score of 180-120 over the Big Red.
Denison opened the meet with a runner up finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
Jassy Park,
Drue Thielking,
Amber Croonquist and
Grace Kadlecik came in with a time of 1:43.89.
Quinn Brown was second in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:22.33. Brown later finished second in the 500 Free at 5:02.30.
Park placed first in the 100 Back with a winning time of 56.81. Park came in second place in the 200 Back with a time of 2:05.83.
Emily Harris secured the win for Denison in the 200 Fly. Harris logged a top time of 2:05.65 in the event. Harris would later add a time of 42.67 to finish third in the 100 Free.
Croonquist picked up a win in the 100 Fly, as she logged a time of 57.29.
Caroline Ramirez came in third place in the 100 Back, as she finished with a time of 58.54. Ramirez was also third in the 200 Back (2:07.50).
Kadlecik finished third in the 50 Free with a time of 24.17.
Thielking logged a time of 2:22.84 to come in third place in the 200 Breaststroke.
Croonquist,
Maddie Schaefer, Ramirez and Kadlecik came in second in the 200 Free to wrap up the event. The group had a time of 1:35.85.
Denison showed well in the Diving events.
Lu-Si Minnich finished first in the 1-Meter 6 Dives. Minnich logged the top score of 256.13.
Kerstyn Johnson placed second with a score of 235.35.
Johnson put together a score of 263.70 to win in the 3-Meter 6 Dives. Minnich came in second with a score of 250.73.
Up Next: Denison returns to the pool when they host Oberlin College for a meet on Saturday, Nov. 16. Start time at Trumbull Aquatics Center is scheduled for 1 p.m.
