GAMBIER, Ohio (Nov. 9) – The eighth-ranked Denison University men's swimming & diving team walked away with victory in impressive fashion Saturday morning when they defeated fourth-ranked Kenyon by a 203-97 score at the James A. Steen Aquatic Center in Gambier, Ohio.
Denison opened the meet with a strong effort in the 200 Medley Relay. The grouping of
Jack Hill,
Patrick Daly,
Christian Narcelles and
Nick Hensel raced to a first place finish with a time of 1:32.13 to give Denison an early win.
The Big Red put four in the top five in the 1000 Free.
Lucas Conrads placed first with a time or 9:39.21 to edge the next closest competitor by less than a second.
Max Hutson-Comeaux finished third in the event.
Christian McIntire and
Cameron Noble finished in the top two spots of the 200 Free. McIntire logged a time of 1:42.03 while Noble came in at 1:42.15.
Hill recorded a first place finish in the 100 Back. The sophomore raced to a time of 50.65 in the event.
Luke Swiggett finished third in the event (51.93).
Daly earned the individual win in the 100 Breaststroke. Daly came in with a time of 55.95.
Gavin Jones finished third with a time of 56.99 in the event.
Max Lough and
Dylan Escano finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 Fly.
Hensel took first in the 50 Free. He posted a winning time of 20.90 in the event. Hensel shortly after followed up with a win in the 100 Free, as he raced to a time of 45.69.
Benjamin Coverdale added a third place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 21.12.
Swiggett and
Devin Testin were 2-3 in the 200 Back. The two recorded times of 1:52.77 and 1:54.27, respectively.
Jones grabbed the victory in the 200 Breaststroke. His time of 2:03.97 gave him the win in the event.
McIntire picked up the victory in the 500 Free with a time of 4:38.73.
Escano and Lough came in the top two spots in the 100 Fly. Escano's winning time of 50.67 just outpaced Lough at 50.75.
Denison closed the swimming portion of the meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 Free Relay. Hensel, Coverdale, Noble and Hill claimed first at 1:22.88.

Clay Perry,
George Wang and Daly finished second at 1:24.36.
In diving,
Nick Fogle was first in the 1-Meter 6 Dives with a score of 298.28. His teammate,
Brendan Stanley, amassed 283.20 to finish in second. Fogle went on to take first as well in the 3-Meter 6 Dives with a score of 334.65.
The victory was the first for Denison over Kenyon in the men's regular season dual since 2018-19.
