GRANVILLE, Ohio (Nov. 10) – The Denison men's squash team split its pair of matches on Saturday. The Big Red cruised to an 8-1 win over Hobart before dropping a tight 5-4 decision to Dickinson late Saturday evening.
 
Denison 8, Hobart 1 
 
The Big Red opened Liberty League play with an 8-1 victory over the Statesmen. 
 
Highlighting the victory was a comeback win by Lucas Piller, who won in five sets at the fourth spot. After falling behind 2-1 entering the fourth set, Piller secured an 11-4 win before a narrow 11-9 victory in the fifth. 
 
Juan Felipe Hernandez and Tarun Mammen won in straight sets in the top two spots in the lineup. 
 
Alex DeLuca, Jackson Bragman, Ross Falcon, Rayan Dar, Gus Nelson and Owen Mullaly picked up straight set victories at the remaining positions. 
 
Mullaly cruised by scores of 11-2, 11-1 and 11-1 at the ninth spot.
 
Dickinson 5, Denison 4
 
Dickinson would secure a slight 5-4 win over Denison in action late on Saturday night.
 
Hernandez won in straight sets at the top spot. Hernandez won via scores of 11-7, 11-2 and 11-9. 
 
Mammen secured a four-set victory at the second position. Mammen split the opening two sets, winning 11-7 before falling 11-6 in the second set. Mammen took the final two sets by scores of 11-7 and 11-5 to take the win. 
 
Denison also won at the sixth and seventh positions. Bragman won in straight sets at six. Falcon won in four sets at number seven, earning three straight set wins after dropping the opening set. 
 
Up Next: Denison heads to New England to face Colby, Bates and Brown on Dec. 6-8.
