COLUMBUS, Ohio (Oct. 25) -- The eighth-ranked Denison University men's swimming & diving team dropped a non-conference decision by a 182-116 score in a dual meet with the 12th ranked team in NCAA Division I, The Ohio State University, on Friday night at the McCorckle Aquatic Pavilion.
This was the 15th straight season that Ohio State has hosted the Big Red men's team in a dual meet.
The two teams opened the evening with the 200 Medley Relay. Denison's top finishers came in as the runners up. The group consisting of
Jack Hill,
Patrick Daly,
Christian Narcelles and
Nick Hensel finished with a time of 1:30.89.
Denison put three in the top five of the 500 Free.
Christian McIntire finished second with a time of 4:37.80.
Lucas Conrads came in third at 4:40.08 and
George Goins placed fifth with a time of 4:43.05.
Hill led Denison in the 200 Free with a time of 1:42.26, which placed him fifth in the event.
Emmett Harmon led Denison in sixth place in the 50 Back with a time of 25.00.
Daly raced to a third-place effort in the 50 Breaststroke. He posted a time of 25.95 in the event. Taek Rommaneekochchakorn timed in at 26.52 to finish in fifth.
Narcelles was the top Denison finisher in the 100 Fly with a time of 50.80 that put him fifth overall.
Hensel gave Denison a victory in the 50 Free. Hensel raced to a time of 20.74 to take the top spot.
Benjamin Coverdale finished fourth in the event at 21.22.
Nick Fogle paced Denison in the 3-Meter Dives. His score of 299.70 put him in fourth place. Fogle was also the top finisher for Denison in the 1-Meter Diving. His total score was 264.08 also put him fourth.
Hensel tacked on a fifth-place finish in the 100 Free with a time of 46.21.
Hill put together a time of 50.88 in the 100 Back to finish fourth.
Daly later finished as the runner up in the 100 Breaststroke. Daly clocked in with a time of 56.53. He was later the top Denison finisher in the 100 IM at 51.25.
Conrads had Denison's top time in the 300 Free. He touched the wall in 2:43.98.
Dylan Escano had a time of 23.59 in the 50 Fly to finish as the best Denison finisher in that event.
The 200 Free Relay team of Hensel, Coverdale,
Marshall Pifer and Hill picked up the top Denison time. The quartet finished at 1:24.49.
Up Next: Denison returns to competition tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 26) when they host Division I Xavier University at Trumbull Aquatics Center. The meet will start at 1 p.m.
