OBERLIN, Ohio (April 8, 2023) – The No. 14 Denison University men's tennis defeated Oberlin College 9-0 on the road on Saturday to improve to 19-3 overall and 4-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. It was also the fifth 9-0 sweep in a row for the Big Red.
 
Notable Results:
Doubles

• Camden French and Ethan Green (No. 1 doubles) and Andy Mackler and Zachary Portnoy (No. 3 doubles) both earned an 8-3 win while Anthony Payiavlas and Jack Bulger needed a tiebreaker to earn the win, 8-7 (8-6), at No. 2 doubles.

Singles

• Green won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, Mackler won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, and Payiavlas won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
• At No. 1 singles, Kael Shah won a tiebreaker in the first set, 7-6 (7-5), before cruising 6-0 in set number two.
• Jacob Patterson matched Payiavlas with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.
• In the final match at No. 5 singles, Andreas Chapides pulled out a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) win in a third-set super tiebreaker.

Next Up: Denison will return to action tomorrow on Easter Sunday (Apr. 9) to host the College of Wooster during Senior Day starting at 12 p.m.
