Men’s tennis claims NCAC Championship, undefeated conference season with win at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (April 16, 2023) – The No. 14 nationally-ranked Denison University men's tennis team captured the 2023 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship with a perfect 7-0 record in NCAC matches following its 8-1 win at DePauw University on Sunday.

It was the third-straight NCAC Championship for Denison (22-3 overall) after winning the NCAC Tournament during each of Head Coach David Schilling's first two seasons leading the Big Red in 2021 and 2022.

In addition, Denison's 22 wins during the regular season are the most in program history, surpassing the previous bests of 18 wins in 1999 (18-1) and 19 wins in 2022 (19-3).

Also of note, freshman Andreas Chapides broke the Denison single-season record for singles wins with 28 total wins (28-2) between the tournament and dual meet seasons. The previous Big Red record was 27 wins set by Tim Cianciola just last season.
