PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (March 4, 2023) – Day two of the College Squash Association National Collegiate Individual Championships saw Denison University's Maria Clara Ramirez and Juan Felipe Hernandez both advance to the championship of their respective consolation brackets.

In the semifinals of the Holleran Cup: B Division South consolation bracket, the 11th-seeded Ramirez defeated 10th-seeded Haley Jefferson (Williams) in five sets (5-11, 11-3, 10-12, 14-12, 11-5).

In the championship of the Holleran Cup: B Division South consolation bracket on Sunday, March 5, Ramirez will battle against ninth-seeded Rafaela Albuja (William Smith) at 9:30 a.m. Albuja made it to the championship following a 4-1 (11-8, 10-12, 11-6, 11-2) win over Binney B Huffman (Harvard).

On the men's side, Juan Felipe Hernandez, who was also seeded 11th in the Molly Cup: B Division East, withstood a very high-scoring fourth set to win in five sets (8-11, 13-11, 11-9, 16-18, 11-4) himself against 10th-seeded Sebastain Vaca Sanchez (Chatham).

Hernandez will now take on fifth-seeded Ahmed Ismail (Trinity) at in the Molly Cup: B Division East consolation bracket championship at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday. Ismail advanced to the championship with a 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-2) win over eighth-seeded Youssif Mostafa (Colby) while Hernandez is coming off of back-to-back five-set wins in the consolation bracket.
