WOOSTER, Ohio (March 31, 2023) – Playing against a team ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Rankings for the second time this season, the No. 14 Denison University men's tennis team fell 7-2 in neutral-court action against No. 1 Case Western Reserve University on Friday at the Aspen Racquet Club.

- Denison's first win came from Patterson, who defeated Vishwa Aduru 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
- Chapides won his first set 6-2 at No. 5 singles before pulling out a 7-6 (7-5) tiebreak win in the second set over Casey Hishinuma.
- Green also won his first set 6-2 at No. 6 singles, but came up short 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-5) in a second-set tiebreaker and a third-set super tiebreaker against Ajay Mahenthiran.
- In the final match, Kael Shah lost 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 to Michael Sutanto at No. 3 singles.
Records:
- Two of Denison's (14-3 overall) three losses this season have come against teams ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III at the time.
- Case (19-4), meanwhile, is now a perfect 16-0 against Division III opponents so far this year.
Next Up: Denison's busy week will continue with four more matches this weekend. The Big Red will host Wittenberg University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, before hosting three matches, Ohio Wesleyan University (12 p.m.), Otterbein University (3 p.m.) and Capital University (6 p.m.), on Sunday, April 2.
