OXFORD, Ohio (December 2, 2023) – The Denison University diving teams competed at the Miami Diving Invitational on Thursday, November 30, and Friday, December 1, and earned two top-10 finishes to go along with five total finishes in the top-14 across the four events.
In the women's 3-meter dive on Thursday,
Kerstyn Johnson (224.55) finished just one spot away from qualifying for the finals (9th place) and was followed by
Alexis Radhakrishnan (207.75) in 19th place,
Molly McIntyre (193.95) in 22nd and
Lu-Si Minnich (186.25) in 25th in the field of 27 divers.
Meanwhile, in the men's 1-meter dive,
Kristian Kowalski (258.20) led the Big Red with a top-10 finish while
Nick Fogle (229.00) was just two spots behind in 12th place in the field of 22 divers.
On Friday, Johnson (216.50) was 13th out of 31 divers in the 1-meter dive and was followed by Radhakrishnan (211.40) in 16th place, Minnich (188.85) in 24th and McIntyre (160.95) in 28th.
Lastly, in the field of 22 divers in the men's 3-meter dive, Kowalski (230.95) was 14th,
Brendan Stanley (218.25) was 18th and Fogle (201.55) was 21st.
"The Miami Invite was a chance to participate in a very competitive environment with several D1 and D2 teams attending," spoke Head Diving Coach
Russ Bertram. "It was also very good timing. At this point in the season we need to gauge where their dive lists are and what weak spots we need to work on. It was a very productive and competitive experience for all."
