GAMBIER, Ohio (April 29, 2022) – The No. 30 Denison University women's tennis team started off its run at the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament with a 5-0 win over Allegheny College in the NCAC quarterfinals on Friday.
Playing at Kenyon College's VandenBerg Courts in Gambier, Ohio,
Monique Brual and
Caroline Lopez won first at No. 2 doubles, taking it by a score of 8-1.
Hannah Bradvica and
Susan Biederstedt won without dropping a game (8-0) at No. 3 doubles, and then
Sydney Cianciola and
Sarah Robertson finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win the top spot.
In singles, Biederstedt won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles before Lopez won by the same score at No. 4 singles to end it.
With the win, Denison improves to 12-7 overall while Allegheny's season ends at 7-10.
Next up, Denison will battle Oberlin College in the NCAC semifinals starting at 11 a.m. tomorrow (April 30). The other semifinal match will feature Kenyon vs. DePauw.
