CLEVELAND, Ohio (April 2, 2022) – The No. 29 Denison University women's tennis team took to the court for the first time in 11 days, but unfortunately the Big Red fell by a final score of 5-4 against No. 28 Christopher Newport University in neutral court action on Saturday at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

- Sydney Cianciola won 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in the No. 1 spot to put Denison ahead 3-2, but it would not be enough as Denison lost each of the next three matches until Brual (No. 3 singles) won in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, in the final match to finish.
- Also forcing three sets was Robertson, who fell 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and Susan Biederstedt, who lost 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 in the six spot.
- Caroline Lopez lost 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) in the close match at No. 5 singles.

- In what was the first ever meeting between the two teams, No. 29 Denison dropped to 8-3 overall while No. 28 Christopher Newport improved to 5-6.
Next Up: Denison will remain in Cleveland to take on No. 12 nationally-ranked Case Western Reserve University at 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 3.
