GRANVILLE, Ohio (March 5, 2022) – The No. 21 Denison University men's tennis team earned its fourth 9-0 sweep in its first five matches of the 2022 season after defeating Hope College on Saturday inside the Mitchell Center.
 
Notable Results:
Doubles

• The sweep at doubles saw Ryan Patrick and John Thompson win first at the No. 3 spot (8-1) in their first time playing together so far this season.
• Tim Cianciola and Jack Bulger won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to improve to 4-0 on the year while Milan Gonela and Andy Mackler secured the 8-0 goose egg at No. 2 doubles.

Singles

• In singles, Bulger won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot while improving to 5-0 on the season, and Daniel Garcia did not drop a set at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-0) to clinch the victory.
• Marc-Lennart Harms won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles to also improve to 5-0 while Cianciola won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to improve to 4-0.
• In the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, Blake Eason won 6-0, 6-1 and Colin Gramley won 6-4, 6-0, respectively, as both gentlemen improved to 2-0.

 
Records:

• Denison improved to 4-1 with its 11th straight win against Hope (1-5) since 2005.

 
Next Up: Denison will play its first true road match of the season at No. 20 Kalamazoo College tomorrow on Sunday, March 6.
