JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (March 19, 2022) – After finishing day one in a three-team tie for eighth place, the No. 17 Denison University women's golf team is now in tie for 12th place after day two at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.
The Big Red originally shot a score of 303 (+15) during round one before shooting 310 (+22) on Saturday, leaving them to seven strokes away from a place in the top-10 and an even 20 strokes out of second place. Denison (303-310; 613) is tied with No. 11 Claremont Mudd Scripps (310-303; 613).
No. 2 Emory (289-289; 578) currently leads the tournament at just two-over-par while No. 6 Centre (299-294; 593) is in second place.
Sophia Alexander (73-76; 149) remains the Big Red leader in a tie for 20th while
Ella McRoberts (78-75: 153) shot three-over-par on Saturday to move up 11 spots into a tie for 38th out of 120 total golfers.
Kate Griffin (76-79; 155) is tied for 47th,
Laine Hursh (76-81; 157) is tied for 61st, and
Elizabeth Lyon (88-80; 168) improved by eight stokes and moved up 13 spots into a tie for 91st.
The third and final round from Jekyll Island is set for Sunday, March 20.
