PITTSBURGH, Pa. (November 19, 2022) – Playing against its highest nationally-ranked opponent of the regular season, the No. 30 Denison University men's squash team dropped a 9-0 decision on the road at No. 13 Chatham University on Friday night at Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
All eight Big Red players in action lost 3-0, with the most competitive match coming in the No. 1 seed by
Juan Felipe Hernandez (11-4, 13-11, 11-6).
With each of Denison's remaining seven players moving up a spot in the lineup, other competitive matches included an 11-4, 11-8, 11-4 loss by
Lucas Piller in the No. 3 seed, an 11-4, 11-6, 11-7 loss by
Ross Falcon in the No. 4 spot, and an 11-6, 11-5, 11-8 defeat by
Gus Nelson at the No. 7 seed.
Denison fell back to .500 on the season at 2-2 while Chatham improved to 3-1 with its only loss being against No. 7 nationally-ranked Drexel University.
This concludes action for the month of November for the Big Red, who will not return to the court until the first week of December for a pair of matches in a return trip to Pennsylvania. Denison will take on No. 28 Dickinson College in a road matchup at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, before battling No. 29 Haverford College in neutral action at Dickinson the next day, Sunday, December 4, at 11 a.m.
