GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison swimming & diving senior
John Stauffer was recently named to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American team. As one of only two male swimmers chosen for the honor across all three divisions of the NCAA, Stauffer was honored by the NSCA for his accomplishments in the pool and for his dedication to strength and conditioning.

Beau Scott, Stauffer's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is an outstanding model for all Denison student-athletes.
As a four-year member of the Denison swimming & diving program, Stauffer has collected four All-American honors and was a member of the Big Red's National Team in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, Stauffer garnered All-America status in two events with a 10
th-place finish in the 400 IM (3:54.71), as well as a 13
th-place showing in the 200 fly (1:49.38) as he helped the men's swimming & diving team win their third NCAA Division III National Championship in four years. That same season, Stauffer was named the NCAC Champion in the 400 IM after clocking in at 3:55.55, as well as being recognized as an All-NCAC performer in the 200 back (1:50.07).
A health, exercise, and sport studies major, Stauffer serves as a student representative to the Committee on Athletics and is a member of the philanthropic and sexual respect councils. In his four signature events in the pool, he has seen tremendous improvements. His 400 IM time went from 4:10.66 to 3:52.52, 200 fly from 1:51.94 to 1:47.42, 200 back from 1:56.48 to 1:48.76, and 200 IM from 1:59.67 to 1:50.36. In the weight room, Stauffer has put almost 100 pounds on his squat max, added over five inches to his vertical jump, and improved his pull ups from 13 reps to 22 reps.
