Denison opens weekend with win at OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio — Denison men's golf got back in the win column on Friday afternoon as they posted a 305-318 win against Ohio Wesleyan at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.

Ben Scherman finished the round with an even par 71 through 18-holes and took first overall. He tallied four birdies on the day, including a stretch on holes 13 and 14 where he made back-to-back birdies. This is Scherman's second win of the season, a week after he took medalist honors and carded a personal-best 67 (-4) in DU's 290-309 win over Wittenberg on March 27.
Jesse Felker finished in third place with a round of 77 (+6) that also included birdies on both 13 and 14.
Marc Mitchell shot 78 (+7) and Griffin Hayden posted a round of 79 (+8). First-year Jack Schaeffer rounded out the top-five with a round of 85.

Denison men's golf will be back on the course tomorrow, Saturday, April 3, when they host Ohio Wesleyan at the Denison Golf Club in Granville. Tee times will begin at 10:40 a.m.
