Women's Golf Captures Tourney Championship

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Denison Women's Golf took home the win at the Denison Spring Invitational shooting a 36-hole total of 634, 27 strokes ahead of the second-place DePauw who  finished at 661. Wittenberg (675), Wooster (706), and Ohio Wesleyan (762) rounded out the field. 
  • Sophia Alexander took home the medalist honors, her second in as many weeks, shooting 76-78 which included 4 birdies across the weekend. Alexander's 76 is her best round of the year, at two stroke improvement over her 78 that she carded last weekend.
  • Megan Wong, who entered the tournament as the 12th ranked DIII women's golfer, and Laine Hursh, ranked 24th, shot rounds of 77 and 79 today, respectively. Wong combined for -1 on the par-3s today with birdies on holes 4 and 7, while Hursh finished her round with a birdie on 18.
  • Megan Munn shot her lowest round of the year with a round of 80, six better than her previous season-low, to grab a tie for seventh place and finish in the fourth spot for the Big Red. Julia Shafir rounded out the starting five, posting a round of 82, an improvement of 10 shots over yesterday's round.
Denison women's golf will be back on the course this Saturday, April 24th, when they host the first round of the NCAC Championship at Denison Golf Club, before traveling to Westbrook Country Club on May 1 for the final round of this year's conference championship.
