Men's Golf Holds Off Wittenberg to Win Spring Invite

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Denison men's golf took home the championship at the Denison Spring Invitational, holding off second place Wittenberg by two strokes. The Big Red fired a second round 291 on the heels of Saturday's 284 for a 36-hole total of 575.  Wittenberg checked in second at 577.  Ohio Wesleyan (590), DePauw (613), and Wabash (637) rounded out the field.
  • Sam Davis led the way on Sunday, finishing first for Denison and second overall with two rounds of even par, 71. Davis birdied holes No. 10, 12, and 13 en route to today's 71. 
  • Will Grady and Ben Scherman both shot +2, 73 on Sunday. Scherman birdied his final three holes three holes to finish in a tie for seventh, Grady finished in a tie for third. 
  • Marc Mitchell and Jesse Felker rounded out the starting five with rounds of 74 and 77, respectively. Mitchell finished with a total of 145 and tied for third place overall. 
Denison men's Golf will be back on the course this Saturday, April 24th, when they host the first round of the NCAC Championship at Denison Golf Club, before traveling to Westbrook Country Club on May 1 for the final round of this year's conference championship.
