#24 Denison women tame Gators in DH sweep

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- No. 24 Denison women's tennis posted two 9-0 sweeps over Allegheny College on Saturday at the Denison Tennis Courts in Granville.

Match 1

The Big Red jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on the doubles court, starting with the duo of Devin Gramley and Hannah Bradvica, who defeated the Gators pair of Allison Riley and Noelle Kidd with an 8-1 win. Sarah Robertson and Sydney Cianciola took down Gaby DeLeon and Katherine Stancil, 8-3. Closing out doubles was the 19th-ranked pair of Alex Cash and Hannah Cianciola, who handed Ella Swan and Jean-Arlette Legrand a 8-3 loss.
In singles, Robertson blanked Swan with a pair of 6-0 wins. Sydney Cianciola joined in with another pair of 6-0 wins over DeLeon. Bradvica took down Stancil with two 6-1 wins.
Monique Brual posted two 6-0 wins over Legrand. Kendall Schrader shut out Riley with a pair of 6-0 wins. Closing out the first match was Natalie Overby, who defeated Kidd, 6-3, 6-1.

Match 2

In the second match, the sister duo of Hannah and Sydney Cianciola blanked Swan and Legrand, 8-0. Gramley and Cash teamed up and defeated Stancil and DeLeon, 8-3. Brual and Schrader took down Riley and Kidd with an 8-2 win.
On the singles court, Cash defeated Swan, 6-2, 6-3. Robertson took down Legrand, 6-2, 6-0. Gramley defeated Stancil with a pair of 6-1 wins.
To start off the final three matches, Bradvica defeated Riley 6-0, 6-1. Schrader took down Kidd by the same score. Junior Susan Biederstedt held off Tiaralei Cade, 6-4, 6-3. The two wins bring the Big Red to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in NCAC play while the Gators fell to 3-3.

The Big Red will return to action on Sunday, April 18 when they face DePauw University at 12:30 p.m. in Granville.
