GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison men's soccer played their second exhibition match of the spring season on Saturday afternoon and fell 1-0 to Ohio Wesleyan at Barclay-Thomsen Field in Granville.
- The Bishops took early control on the offensive end, nearly taking the lead with 21:46 to play in the first half with Hector Gomez had his shot swatted over the crossbar by Denison's keeper Dylan Brown. Seven minutes later, OWU capitalized at 14:32 remaining when Gomez fed a forwarding Jaggar Brooker who scored the lone goal of the game and put the Big Red behind 1-0.
- While both sides played to a stalemate in the second half, junior Harrison Netburn nearly tied the game for DU in the 77th minute when he sent a header toward the goal off a free kick, but the attempt missed wide left, allowing for Ohio Wesleyan to hold on for the victory.
Denison will close out their abbreviated spring season on Saturday, May 1 when they travel to nearby Gambier, Ohio for a 2 p.m. kickoff with the Lords of Kenyon College.
